Our 4-Day Masai Mara Safari takes you on a thrilling adventure through the reserve’s stunning landscapes and teeming wildlife. With expert guides, comfortable accommodations, and unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities, this safari is the ultimate way to experience the magic of the Masai Mara.
Begin your safari journey with a scenic drive from Nairobi to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The route takes you through the panoramic Great Rift Valley, with breathtaking views of subsistence farmlands and local community settlements. Stop at the rift valley escarpment to take in the stunning views of the valley below before descending to the floors of the rift valley. As you drive, keep an eye out for wildlife, including gazelles, impalas, and giraffes. Arrive at the Masai Mara in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game viewing drive. This is your first opportunity to spot some of the reserve’s incredible wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, and elephants. Overnight at your chosen safari lodge or tented camp.
Spend the day exploring the Masai Mara Game Reserve on a full-day game viewing drive. The reserve is home to an incredible concentration of wild animals, including the Big Five. Visit the Mara River, where you may spot hippos and crocodiles, or witness the great migration (seasonal). The migration is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth, with millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles making their way across the reserve in search of greener pastures. Keep an eye out for predators, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as they stalk their prey. Overnight at your chosen safari lodge or tented camp.
Enjoy another day of wildlife viewing drives in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. You may choose to have a full-day game drive or break it up into separate sessions, allowing you to relax at your lodge or camp. Consider adding a hot air balloon ride to float over the Masai Mara plains (extra cost). This is a unique and breathtaking way to see the reserve and its wildlife from a new perspective. Alternatively, visit a local Masai community to learn about their traditional way of life and culture. Overnight at your chosen safari lodge or tented camp.
After a leisurely breakfast, depart the Masai Mara Game Reserve and drive back to Nairobi. Stop at the Longonot extinct volcano, a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha. Take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape and learn about the volcano’s history and geology. You may also opt to visit Kiambethu farm for a tea farm tour and lunch (extra cost) or drive straight to Nairobi and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure.
